I’m sharing a minor work, and I call it so because it was created without any special pretensions, just in a simple way, playing with nature sounds, in a similar way to how I composed «Hills and Coasts of China», present in this blog since several months ago.
«Guapa Gualpa Andina» (Pretty Andean Gualpa) is the title of this tiny piece, in honour and gratitude to that young lady of Andean origin who, as I did already tell when presenting «Embrujo andaluz» (Andalusian charm), with her words of encouragement to finish that work, I managed to find the end that I had been looking for during so many months.
In that title of this little work I play with the word «Guapa» (pretty) and this young lady’s Inca last name «Gualpa» and the fact that she is of Andean origin.
I wrote and finished it the very same month of October when all that happened, but I have not been able to register it with the SGAE until now because I have been quite involved in other issues and I never publish a work without being first registered.
I wrote this little work imagining a group of Incas walking up the mountain, crossing a river, surrounded by the jungle sounds, until they get to their sacred temple. There, the priestess sings to their gods accompanied by the rest of followers; until they return to their village humming their songs, again crossing the river and wrapped in the jungle sounds.
